How smtppeek handles your data when you check a mail server.
Formal legal details are not yet available. The owner of this service has not yet registered a company, legal entity, or registered address. This page describes the service's actual data practices in plain language. When formal legal details are provided by the owner, this page will be updated.
What smtppeek is
smtppeek is a diagnostic tool that opens an outbound TCP connection to a mail server you specify, reads the public SMTP greeting banner and advertised capabilities, and reports the results back to you. It is a read-only probe — it sends an EHLO command and then closes the connection. It does not send email, deliver messages, or authenticate to the servers it checks.
What data is collected
smtppeek does not store any data. When you enter a hostname and port:
- The hostname and port you enter are sent to the backend server to establish the connection.
- The SMTP banner and capability text received from the target server are returned to your browser.
- No logs are retained. Once the results are displayed in your browser, the request data is not persisted on any server.
- No credentials are collected. smtppeek does not ask for, store, or transmit passwords, API keys, or authentication tokens.
- No account is required. There is no sign-up, no login, and no user profile. No cookies are used for authentication or tracking.
Web hosting and analytics
This site is hosted as a static website. The hosting provider may record standard server access logs (IP address, request path, timestamp, user-agent) in the normal course of operation. smtppeek does not deploy its own analytics, tracking pixels, or third-party scripts.
Third-party services
This site uses Google Fonts for typography. The Google Fonts API receives your IP address when fonts are loaded. No other third-party services are used.
Data retention
smtppeek has no data retention. Each diagnostic check is ephemeral — the result exists only in your browser session. The backend does not log or archive request data.
Your rights
Because smtppeek does not collect, store, or process personal data, there is no personal data to access, correct, or delete. If you have questions about privacy, please note that the service owner has not yet provided a contact address or legal representative. This page will be updated with contact information when it becomes available.
